FRANKFORT, April 18, 2016 — The National Federation of Independent Business, Kentucky’s leading small-business association, has endorsed Jonathan Shell in the 71st House District race. The district includes Garrard, Madison, and Rockcastle Counties.
The endorsement was made by NFIB/Kentucky SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, which is comprised exclusively of NFIB members.
“Jonathan Shell understands the challenges facing the commonwealth’s small, family businesses and is the clear choice in House District 71″ said Tom Underwood, state director of NFIB/Kentucky.
“As a small businessman himself, we believe Jonathan Shell will continue to take a fiscally responsible approach to managing state government and support legislation that helps our small businesses grow and create jobs and puts the state back on the pathway to success.”
“Small businesses are the backbone of Kentucky and fuel job opportunities in Garrard. Madison, and Rockcastle Counties. Keeping taxes low and making sure our area is a place where businesses can thrive will continue to be one of my top priorities.” Shell said in response to the endorsement.
Small business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to go to the polls. NFIB has pledged it will activate its grassroots network on behalf of the Shell campaign. NFIB’s political support is based on the candidates’ positions and records on small business issues.
